Providing the charm and comfort of a B&B with the privacy of a hotel our four largest rooms have individual outside entrances and porches for your enjoyment. All rooms are comfortably air-conditioned and have private ensuite bathrooms. Each room is beautifully furnished in antiques and reproductions. Comfortable beds with soft sateen sheets, down comforters, and robes are yours to snuggle in. We have a collection of pertinent Civil War and local interest books , and for those rooms with TV's and media players, a selection of tapes and DVD's on local history as well as other entertaining movies for your enjoyment.

Our General's Quarters is a large romantic cottage separate from the main building. Blending our 1830's Summer Kitchen with a large bedroom and bath, the finely crafted room is built in the early 1800's tradition with thick masonry walls, stone foundation, and high ceilings. A country sized porch overlooks the gardens. Featuring a queen and a full sized bed, tiled bath with tub and shower, cable TV, DVD, VCR, CD player and a mini-fridge, the General's Quarters provides the most comfortable and beautiful accommodation to be found. Room rate is $167 single, $192 double.

The Antietam Room, the largest room in the main building, features a queen sized bed, a private bath with a tub and shower, the room has a private entrance, a large porch overlooks the gardens, cable TV, DVD, and VCR. This room can be adjoined with the Clara Barton Room for a larger group. Room rate is $151 single, $176 double.

The gracious Thomas Jackson Room, on the ground floor has a queen size bed, a private bath, cable TV, VCR, private garden porch and separate entrance. This room was once the Rohrbach family's formal parlor reserved for entertaining guests. Room rate is $141 single, $166 double.

The Harpers Ferry Suite, features a private bath, private porch and separate entrance. The bedroom has both a double and a twin bed. The sitting room has a sofa that opens into an additional bed. There is also a desk and cable TV and DVD. A large shady porch overlooks the gardens. This room can accommodate three adults or a couple with two smaller children. Room rate is $134 single, $159 double, $184 triple.

The cozy Clara Barton Room, is furnished with an antique full size double bed and a dresser which were handmade by Joanne's grandfather. The Clara Barton room's private bath features an old fashioned clawfoot tub and a sunflower shower. While there is no TV in this room, cable TV, VCR and a video library may be enjoyed in our parlor. Room rate is $111 single, $136 double.

The Jackson and Antietam rooms can both accommodate an extra person on an aerobed for a small additional charge.

All rates include Joanne's bountiful multi-course gourmet breakfast, home baked cookies, and complimentary beverages featuring our specially selected La Minita estate grown coffee imported from the Tarrazu region of Costa Rica and freshly roasted here at the Inn. Enjoy your coffee and the morning Washington Post starting at 7 a.m. in our parlor. Our full breakfast is served in our dining room each morning at 8:30. The first course includes fresh fruit, juices, and homemade pastries. The main course may include Eggs Benedict, Belgian Waffles, or other gourmet specialties. Continental breakfast is available for guests wishing to eat at another time.

Our own gardens supply not only flowers for the table, but also much of our herbs and produce, including strawberries, peaches, and melons in season. Eggs, fruits and vegetables are purchased from local farmers. We bake fresh pastries daily and our home-style breads are fresh from the Mennonite bakery here in town.

We will make every effort to accommodate special dietary needs if you let us know when making your reservation. Vegetarian and vegan specialties available.

We have a 2 night minimum stay for most holiday weekends and special events.

Reservations may be guaranteed by MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or check. On checkout we accept the aforementioned credit cards as payment as well as cash and the following gift certificates:

Because we are a small bed and breakfast, cancellations greatly affect us. When you reserve a room, we agree to turn away all other requests for that room and you agree to pay the rate quoted for the number of days you reserve it.

Please note that in the event that your plans change, cancellation must be received 5 days in advance of your scheduled day of arrival or you will be charged for one night's stay if we cannot rebook the room. If you cancel your reservation less than 24 hours in advance, or do not arrive for your reservation as scheduled, you are subject to charge for the entire stay booked. Cancellations MUST be made by telephone conversation with the Innkeepers, answering machine messages and email are not acceptable. A service charge of $25 per room will be made for all cancellations.

Check-in is anytime after 3:00 p.m., we can accommodate late arrivals, but please let us know if arriving after 9. Check-out by 11:00 a.m. There is no smoking allowed in the Inn. Ashtrays are furnished for smoking outdoors on the porch or patio. We welcome well mannered supervised children 10 and older. A discounted rate is available for Active Duty Military and Seniors age 62 or better except during Holidays and Special Events.
